Since we opened our doors almost twenty years ago, Langland has supported charities. Specifically, we've helped the causes that strive to improve health and wellbeing for us all. We happily donate cash and gifts, but it's our time that always provides the greatest value. With sound advice and distinctive creative ideas, we give generously of our collective experience to help raise a charity's profile and drive fundraising.

SEBASTIAN'S ACTION TRUST

Just because you're a sick kid doesn't mean you stop dreaming of holidays. In fact, it's quite the opposite with seriously ill children relishing the chance of a change of scenery. Enter Sebastian's Action Trust, a charity that provides holiday homes and support for tired families to enjoy the all too rare chance of spending precious time together. Our work for the Trust is ongoing and varied, ranging from a thorough communication and design overhaul, right through to a commercial promoting the charity nationwide.

BLISS

Bliss is the charity for babies born too soon, too small, too sick and our support for them is now in its third year.

Like many charities, fundraising depends on mobilising the goodwill of lots of ordinary people. We've found that simple, fun ideas that everybody can get involved with are always the best. So, this year we invented Cake A Difference, which encouraged supporters to bake and sell cupcakes for this very good cause.

Our Cake A Difference campaign was powered by social media, using Twitter and Facebook to encourage people to visit a specially designed website, cakeadifference.org. Once signed up, amateur bakers could register an event and download their own advertising kit. The combination of a witty, well-designed idea together with the reach and user-friendliness of social media has made this year's effort a great success. And, the surprise appearance of Nigella Lawson really was the icing on the cake.
