Andrew is no fan of cliche, but even he would forgive the use of that age-old maxim; let the work speak for itself. And, indeed it does. Under Andrew's careful direction, Langland has become the most creatively successful healthcare ad agency in recent times. A dissatisfaction with the status quo and an insistence that work should be simple, surprising and, above all, empathetic has helped us produce a portfolio of work that pleasingly transcends the healthcare category to compete with the best work anywhere. We think he's pretty happy about that, although you never can tell.

There's something a bit skew-whiff about many healthcare advertising agencies. Have you noticed the complete absence of one of the key agency disciplines? Like why there's a big gaping hole where Account Planning should be. Gordon's not entirely sure but what he does know is that patient insight and getting a feel for customer behaviour are indispensable elements of any Langland brief. And it's Gordon's job to help uncover those nuggets of human truth that lend distinctiveness and authenticity to our work. A Planner in healthcare is a rarity, but to find one whose experience spanned continents in the service of one of the world's biggest agency networks is positively Dodo-like

Account handling, done well, is almost invisible. The very best appear at ease even when faced with the most unreasonable deadlines, peculiar client requests or toddleresque creative tantrums. This ability to stay focused is what's important and it's that reassuring calmness that clients and colleagues alike have come to love about working with Alison. Her account management style keeps projects moving and everybody happy, whilst maintaining a watchful eye on the quality of the work. It is this combination of leadership and a determination to deliver great creative that made her a natural choice for the role of Client Services Director, where Alison is responsible for exceeding even our own high standards.

Unless you've been on a long sea voyage, we're sure you've noticed that the way we human beings communicate is changing rapidly. The rise of social media and the OMG realisation that it's frequently the customer that's managing the marketing has seen a sharp increase in healthcare businesses seeking out ways to move brands online. It's our belief that the best advisors in this space are those that grew up in it, which is why we hired Faisal. As one of the original Amazon UK start up team (way, way back in '98), Faisal is a true digital native. He's providing our clients with invaluable creative and technical insight into this complex channel and, there's no doubt, things are about to get very exciting.

The shared surname is no coincidence; Phil and Jo are married. Together they founded Langland and continue a long tradition of highly successful entrepreneurial partnerships. Whilst Phil's natural focus is on our clients, Jo's energy is applied to creating a working environment that fosters respect, collaboration and represents the Langland brand. She virtually single-handedly took on the challenge of designing our new workspace, which has rightly been the recipient of much critical praise. As has Jo herself, achieving a finalist place at last year's Natwest Every Woman Awards, which recognises our most inspiring female entrepreneurs.
